ISO-DRAIN 40 and ISO-DRAIN 40 A
For modern tunnel construction

You can find them everywhere: road tunnels, underwater tunnels, metro tunnels, railway tunnels and pedestrian tunnels – tunnels that keep us moving forward day after day. As traffic levels steadily increase, so too do the structural demands on a tunnel. One of the greatest challenges for any tunnel is that posed by water. To deal with this, new drainage membranes are now available: the ISO-DRAIN 40 and ISO-DRAIN 40 A.

These new special membranes for large-scale tunnel projects have 40 mm high dimples. They can be planted in the tunnel floor as drainage membranes and filled with concrete. This creates a channel for drawing off stratum and fissure water. The membranes’ particu-larly high, round dimples not only have a very high water-drainage capacity, but also a large dimple contact area to ensure excellent load bearing as well. In addition, the round shape of the dimples prevents limescale and sinter building up between them. The ISO-DRAIN membranes are made from HDPE, have a CBR value of over 3000 newtons, making them extremely stable, and possess excellent elongation-at-break values. With the ISO-DRAIN 40 A model, the sheeting is endowed with a minimum ageing resistance of 100 years. Both membranes are delivered as pre-cut parts, allowing them to lie very flat. The flat edges can be heat sealed with sealing sheets.
